Product Description

Davis & Sanford TRAVERSEB11 tripod with B11 ball head

If there is any tripod that proves the old adage that the very best tripod is the one you take with you, it's the innovative new Davis & Sanford Traverse. Its signature feature: A unique ultra-compact folding system that lets you collapse this sturdy light-weight (3.3 pound) three-legger to a mere 16 inches in overall length, Ideal for stowing in an airline carry-on or slipping into an enthusiast-sized camera bag. The trick to achieving this unprecedented degree of portability and stability is ingeniously simple-the Traverse tripod's 5-section, 23mm twist-lock legs attach to the yoke by means of robust hinge pins that allow the legs to pivot upward a 180 full degrees. When fully folded the rubberized leg tips nest in place "upside-down" over the extended Easy Glide center post and the versatile compact BH11 Ball Head that surmounts it.

Simple setup
Setting up the Traverse is simple, easy, and quick, if a bit unconventional. First, hold in the textured leg-angle adjustment buttons atop each leg, and swing the legs downward nearly a half-turn into shooting position. Next turn the hefty rubberized Quick-Twist locks on each leg just enough to release the leg sections, extend the legs to the desired length and turn the twist locks clockwise to lock them into position. Finally, turn the large easy-to-grasp rubberized twist lock above the yoke to unlock the center post, lift it to the height you want and lock it in place. Each leg has two positive-stop angle adjustments that, in conjunction with the adjustable, reversible center post, provide an exceptional range of height adjustments. You can get up to a nearly-eye-level 57 inches with the center post fully extended, and down to 16 inches with center post all the way down. Simply remove and reverse the center post to provide full grounder capability for macro work. There's even a spring-loaded hook on the bottom of the center post for hanging weights (such as a fully loaded camera bag) for added stability in the field.
