This is a stylish and attractive ceramic Mantel clock in a Art Deco inspired Rockefeller design. This clock has been hand glazed in Echo of Deco's own Paris White glaze with green and black glaze highlights which just scream's out 1920's, Jazz Age, all over and complements the geometric design of this time piece very well. The clock hands are made from black coloured metal. The inspiration for this distinctive timepiece comes from the Art Deco architecture of the Rockefeller centre in New York . The Rockefeller centre was one of the largest private building projects ever undertaken in modern times, consiting of 14 buildings all constructed in the Art Deco style. John D Rockefeller was an American industrialist who played a prominent role in the early oil industry, and for a time was the richest man alive. Rockefeller spent much of the second half of his life focusing on philanthropic pursuits, primarily relating to education and public health, eventually giving away about half of his wealth.
