An ideal introduction to the comprehensive LEE Filters filter system for digital SLR users like the standard Starter Kit, a ready-assembled filter holder comes as standard with this kit. Lee, a leader in square and rectangular filters, has designed this system in response to the demands of both digital and traditional film shooters. However, the main difference lies in the inclusion of a ProGlass 0.6 standard ND filter. ProGlass filters are designed to cut out more infrared and UV light than the standard versions. This gives a cleaner, crisper result, with fewer colour aberrations when shooting in challenging light. A hard graduated filter is characterised by a very sharp transition between the coated and uncoated sections of the filter. A hard grad allows the photographer to control with great precision the desired effect on the composition – especially when the transition between two areas in the frame is articularly abrupt, as with a clear horizon, for example. The effect of the filter ‘carrying over’ from one part of the frame to another would be undesirable. Digital SLR Starter Kit contains:
